dreambook and it is nice to read how other fans feel about Lucy. She has touched
many people's lives. But isn't that why we are all here on this planet, to send
happiness and love to other's? Lucy has inspired me. I have a dream to be a producer/director.
She makes me believe that it will happen. I guess dreams do come true if you work
at them. I am in the process of writing my first book, so wish me luck. Maybe
one day I will get to work with Lucy. Pardon the pun, but wouldn't that be a kick!!!!!

I just want to say that it isn't often you see someone as tall as Lucy Lawless
on the screen. Sure there's Gena Davis and Uma Thurman, but not often. I myself
am quite tall, and she is an inspiration to most women. Women seem to identify
with her as Xena and as herself. I would love to chat with her for five minutes,
as would half a million other fans. I would have to say that her work as a an
actress is what really got me. The way she portrays her characters is so unique
and original. She really is something to see. I wish her well in all her endeavors.

I begin to watch XENA Warrior Princess since early last year (1998). Starting

I admit it -- I'm a big fan of cheesy combat shows, because I myself am a cheesy
combat performance artist. I've worked at several Renaissance Fairs around the
South East and Mid West of the United States, and sword-swinging is just about
my favorite hobby. I'm a Lucy Lawless fan for many reasons, and I have loved her
ever since my first exposure to her as a guest actress in a couple of roles on
the Hercules show, especially as Xena. I admire her for her wide range of abilities,
her beautiful voice, and her courage and rare talent in taking what might have
been a very silly show and working with talented writers, producers, and other
actors and actresses to create entertainment with heart. I'm not ashamed to say
that some episodes of Xena have brought tears to my eyes, while others have made
me hurt myself laughing. Any show and group of actors who can regularly do that
deserve all of the kudos I can give; Lucy deserves them too, because she's the
linch-pin that fans see holding it all together show to show. (I know that many
others are deeply involved in and responsible for the show's success; I'm just
saying that Lucy is the most visible.) I'd write more, but I think this may be
a tad too long already. I'll just close by saying, I'm so glad to have found your

The first time I watched Xena,me and my boyfriend were wall- papering my living
room and watching it at the same time and now we are both obsessed with it. (
Xena, not wall- papering) He likes it because, in his opinion, the babe factor
surpasses Baywatch. He thinks Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor are the two most
beautiful women he's ever seen. You should hear him go on and on, it cracks me
up. He's actually the one who got me hooked on the show. At first I hated it,
and used to bitch and complain everytime he made me watch it. We could never go
out until Xena was over and it was the longest hour of my day lemme tell you!!
I would fall asleep most of the time. =) Then he just looked at me one day and
said... "Look, you don't have to watch it if you don't want to, but I really like
it. Could you please just sit back and watch it once without fighting about it?
Then maybe you'll see what a great show it is." Then he kinda grinned at me and
said "And yes, the fact that Lucy and Renee (Mike thinks he's on first name basis
with them. ) are drop dead gorgeous does make the show more interesting, but honestly
I would watch it even if they were dog ugly." And he meant it too. Well, after
thinking all this time he liked it just for their looks, I was now totally curious
as to why he would watch it even if L&R were ugly. So I watched it. I mean
really watched it. Like as a show. And I was instantly hooked. The show is incredibly
put together and has so much more to it then meets the eye. Not to mention the
fact that it is about damn time that women kick some serious ass!!! There aren't
too many women heros out there and I love the fact that the show emphasizes that.
Anyways, it's a great show, and a good role model for young girls & guys cuz
for the girls, it emphasizes being strong and independent and fighting for what
you believe in. For young guys it emphasizes that girls can do anything that guys
can (and usually 10 times better...but we wont go there.)and if watched at a young
age, might prevent them from becoming sexist pigs who think that girls can't fight,
which is total BS. As someone who's taken tai-bo and kickboxing since I was 13,
I kinda have a problem with people who think like that. But oh well,life goes
on. Xena certainly breaks away from the "oh no, I broke a nail" stereo-type some
guys seem to think all girls have. So the show is inspiring and just really cool,
and Im just glad that I watched it that day and got to see for myself. My day
is no longer complete unless I've had my daily Joxer intake. (I love that guy!!)
So, to sum it all up...The show rules. :) |

After my mother's death 3-years ago i fell into a deep deep depression- the tv
was on just for noise when all of a sudden I saw two very beautiful women bantering
back and forth. Their bantering caused me to laugh. I was immediately mesmerized
and had to see more. That was 7 months ago and I havent stopped watching since.
My friends think I am abit crazy because xena is all I talk about and read on
the internet. But they realize that if it wasnt for Xena and the beautiful Lucy
Tapert/Renee OConnor I would still be deep within myself and maybe possibly dead.

Lucy Lawless as Xena has profoundly changed my life. At 45, I have finally found
a chartacter that I can look up to. As an actress, Ms. Lawless has taken our equality
to the final step for the next millineum. Proud, confident, strong, compassionate,
courageous and the ultimate warrior. Who would have dreamed thirty years ago that
any woman could be totally human! No more hysterical, weepy, shuttering women
in the face of danger. That is what I grew up on. With Xena, women are no longer
victims. We have power. I never realized how much the series effected me until
a few years ago. I was riding on a bus when a drunken rider boarded. He started
to threaten several elderly riders and one handicap individual. With no fear,
I went up to the driver and told him to call the police because of this person.
As the drunken man realized what I had done, he approached me and threatened to
kill me. He swung at me. And, as if I was Xena herself, I said, "Touch me and
you WILL go to jail." He continued to get in my face and threaten me. However,
I never backed down. When several male passengers realized what was happening,
they tackled him. When the police arrived, it took three cops to get him off the
bus. I owe this to Xena. Why? Because I could not sit back and watch these people
be abused. I knew I had power. If Xena could do it, then, so could I. I am nor
will I ever have to be a victim. I can confront, stand firm and walk away. Thank
you, Lucy, for bringing Xena to us. And thank you for giving me the courage to
